DEPED: PRESENTS THE Anak ni Inang Daigdig Cultural Dance Troupe

Bacolod is one of the few who are blessed to be visited by the Anak ni Inang Daigdig Cultural Dance Troupe, the splendid performance and stellar costumes made the event perfect. Under the strong recommendation of Mrs. Maricar Ablin, the event was realized in the Muncipality.

 The event showcased variety of dances from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, with Live Musical Accompaniment using bandoria, guitars and gongs it was indeed educational.

BACOLOD CELEBRATES PASYAL NI LOLO AT LOLA

The Municipality of Bacolod and the Office of Municipal Social Works and Development headed by Mrs. Henedina Aban celebrates the Day for the Senior Citizens, in connection of the said activity are line up of events like Choral Singing Contest, Dances, and Mr and Mrs. Senior Citizens.

COUNCILOR ALFONS JANSSEN PATI-AN MARCERA

A Legislator known for his Serbisyo Segurado tagline, 24 years-old, Councilor Alfons Janssen Marcera, better known as Alpoy is the youngest among the group, A returnee being an Ex-officio member as SK Federation President, Councilor Marcera is an Independent- Lakas-CMD Candidate who lucky given the chance to enter inside the portals of the Legislative Body.

A father of two, and married to Ms. Sofronia Tamparong-Marcera, Alpoy is a graduate Business Administration maj. in Entrepreneurial Marketing, and A Photographer by profession.

A Dynamic Committee Chairman on Cooperatives & Livelihood, Tourism,Arts, Culture and Special Events, Trade and Industry and Labor and Employment. and also the Vice President on National Movement of Young Legislator in the Province of Lanao del Norte.

COUNCILOR EFIMACO VIÑA DUHAYLUNGSOD

Turning his 38th Birthday this November 15, 2010, Councilor Duhaylungsod a.k.a Macoy is the Man who brings the Zullieg Family Foundation in the Municipality of Bacolod giving infrastructure project like Health Centre..

Son of the Late Maximino Duhaylungsod a former SB, Macoy is also a businessman icon the municipality, married to Chute Duhaylungsod, Macoy is a new entrant in politics.Fond of playing tennis and shooting.
Active chairman on the Committee on Peace and Order, and Health and Social Services.

COUNCILOR QUINTIN ABABON CLAPANO JR.

Representing Barangay Esperanza, Councilor Clapano better known as Bobby is our next featured Councilor, married to Gemma Cabangbang, blessed with 4 kids, Councilor Bobby is the graduating and last term Councilor among the group.

A graduate Civil Engineer, Bobby is also a businessman and a member of a religious group- Couples for Christ. Committee Chairman on Infrastructure, Rules and Privilege, and  Ways and Means, and the Protempore inside the August Body of the Sanggunian.

COUNCILOR SITTIE ALLYN SMITH SANGUILA

Councilor Sittie, is a proud muslim councilor, from Pagayawan, A mother of two, and a BS-Accountancy graduate. She run as Barangay Captain in 2007 barangay election but failed to win, she tried her luck by running as Municipal Councilor - Official Candidate of the LAKAS CMD, Councilor Sanguila gained more than 4000 solid votes landing her to top 4 in the Municipal Councilor race.

Now, Councilor Sanguila holds the Committees on Agriculture, Housing and Land Use, and Gender and Development.

COUNCILOR ARCHER CALIMPONG ZAMORA

Councilor Zamora is the son of Board Member Baldomero Zamora of the first district of Lanao del Norte.
Ching his nick represents Barangay Demologan, with his wit and intelligence in law, a barrister he is qualified to handle several Committees in the Sangguian that requires his expertise, to name Committee on Laws and Ordinance, Environment and Education.

Archer given an executive order is the ISWM focal person of the Local Government Unit of Bacolod, and at the same time a member of the Local School Board. Archer is a member of NMYL as board of director.

COUNCILOR MARIE JOY ESPINOSA MENDEZ

Joy-joy as most people called her, or Councilor Marie Joy E. Mendez is the re-elected Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Bacolod, coming from the elite family of Espinosa from Rupagan, is the eldest among the four children of Mr. and Mrs. Joey Espinosa the owner of MACBOY Beach Resort.

Started as Barangay Kagawad of Rupagan, and even adding to her popularity when she won the Ms. Queen Size (a contest among the fattest women in town) Councilor Mendez run for a higher position last 2007 local election, and made her the only flower among the thorns, Active and Participative as she is, she started wholesome advocacies and ideals on the community  like Violence against women and children.

Holding the Committee on Finance and Market and Slaughter house, Councilor Mendez is likewise an officer of the Provincial PCL, and NMYL of Lanao del Norte chapter.

COUNCILOR HADJI ISMAEL GUINAL AMPASO

Councilor Hadji Ismael G. Ampaso, is a returnee legislator, Coming from the Muslim Group, Kadi his pseudonym started his career as Barangay Captain in Demarao.

While he failed the Local Election last 2007, and on the same year loss in the Barangay Election, it was not a hindrance for his come back on the Local Election last May 2010.

Being the Committee Chairman on Games and Amusement and Muslim Affairs, Kadi on the same time plays an important role as Mediator and Protector among his constituents against bad elements such as threats of Terrorism, War and destroyer of peace and order.

COUNCILOR ARNULFO CANDA

Coming from a renowned family in Binuni, Councilor Arnulfo Canda or better known as Dodong, is the 8th Councilor of the Municipality of Bacolod Lanao del Norte. Started his political career as a replacement of  his brother Councilor Avelino Canda Jr. who migrated to Canada.

Councilor Canda is married to Mrs. Lalaine Yap Canda, and blessed with 3 kids. Councilor Canda, known for his jokes and admired sense of humor, He is more for being a supportive colleague.

Committee Chairman on Human Rights and Public Utilities his contribution to the Legislative body is vital.
